About Us

My name is Nick “Chief” Cherevas and I am the Owner/Operator of Personal Touch Gutter Cleaning.

I started cleaning gutters in Atlanta, GA way back in 1991 as American Gutter Cleaning.   It was a year round service down there.

I moved to the Mountains in late 1999 and started Personal Touch Gutter Cleaning in late 2000.  Yes, over 20 years Experience.  I live in Leicester, but we call it “Lester”.   I love these mountains, the great roads, clean air and the people.   I do not miss all the traffic, crime and high heat that Atlanta had.  This is Home for me for the rest of my life.

I was Born in Hawaii in 1961, which makes me Native Hawaiian along with being half Greek & half Russian.  Raised in Columbus, Ohio and Graduated from a Catholic H.S. in 1980.   Went to a Technical College for 4 years.  Moved to Atlanta in 1986 and Operated heavy earth-moving equipment up until losing my father in 1990.   Thought it was a time for a change and decided to try something new and different.   By 1998, I was tired of Atlanta’s traffic and summer heat and started planning on relocating.   I was coming back from a trip to Niagara Falls in early 99 on my motorcycle and came thru Asheville and saw these Mountains.  I fell in love and had to make WNC my Home.  I love it here.  I found a nice fixer-upper home in 2007 and still hard at work on it.  Remodeling is a never ending job.   2012 was the worse year of my life which started with Losing my Mom to cancer the end of April and I still having a hard time accepting she is gone.  Then in Sept., I was rear-ended on my motorcycle as I sat at a stop sign.   Have permanent pains from that.   Then to top it off, had to put my golden retriever & Life long friend of 10yrs, to sleep.   But life goes on and so does needing to clean gutters.   Chief is my nickname.  I will answer to Chief or Nick, which ever you feel most comfortable with.

As you know, I do love motorcycle riding and traveling on my bike.   I enjoy all the festivals, events, shows that this area has to offer.   I have to admit that I never tire of site-seeing on the Blue Ridge Parkway.   I also enjoy working on my house & yard as well as relaxing in front of the big screen TV.   My favorite football team is the #1 Pittsburgh Steelers who I have be a loyal fan since 1972.  I am always attending local motorcycle events that raise money or toys for our Children, people in need and many charities.

I do support Our Military, Out Troops and I always say Thank You to all Our Veterans.   In 2010, I became a Patriot Guard Rider and it’s been a Great Honor to attend Funerals and help escort our Veterans to their final resting place.

Patriot_Guard_Riders_logoThe Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) is an organization in the United States which attends the funerals of members of the armed forces, firefighters, and police at the invitation of the deceased’s family.

The group forms an honor guard at military burials, helps protect mourners from harassment and fills out the ranks at burials of indigent and homeless veterans. In addition to attending funerals, the group also greets troops returning from overseas at homecoming celebrations and performs volunteer work for veteran’s organizations such as Veterans Homes.
